The Bersaglios are Directors of Village of Hope -Zambia where there are currently over 700 orphans and vulnerable children being cared for each day. Some of these children live at Village of Hope while others live with parents or guardians in one of the surrounding shanty compounds. For many of these children the H.E.P.S. feeding program is the only nutritious meal that they receive in a day. An onsite clinic provides free medical care and the school provides free education from pre-school to grade 12. Government schools in Zambia charge fees that are unobtainable for many and because of their destitute circumstances the students at the VOH School would not be receiving an education if they had to pay. The gospel is shared at the school's weekly chapel services and most of the students have made personal committments to the Lord.

In addition to their ministry at Village of Hope - Zambia, Nancy is the coordinator for ChildCARE Plus in Zambia and Sergio provides oversight to the other Villages of Hope in the region. Please pray for Village of Hope - Malawi as they have just finalized registration and are beginning to receive resident children. Please also pray for Village of Hope - Zimbabwe as they move ahead in ministry to orphaned and vulnerable children there.

Prayer Focus:

Due to the AIDS crisis and the extreme poverty in Southern Africa, thousands of children are left without anyone to care for them.

Please pray for the Bersaglios as they interact with children and teens coming from so many different backgrounds. As Village of Hope meets needs for schooling, food and shelter pray that these students will be open to the gospel message as it is shared with them and that they will ultimately become believers that will be equipped to change their nation.

Malaria is very prevalent in Zambia and the Bersaglios have suffered from long bouts of malaria in the past. Please pray that God will protect them and keep them malaria free!
