Nelson and Lisa with their children Gabriella, Luc & baby Daniel
Nelson came to Canada 14 years ago to work with church planting among the Portuguese-speaking people. He completed a Master of Divinity degree from Regent College in 1994 with concentration in Missions and Church planting. He and Lisa are now based in Recife, northeastern Brazil, working with our PAOC Bible School in the development of new models of missionary training. Brazil is one of the leading missionary sending countries in the world but the lack of training still remains as one of the great needs of the local evangelical church. In addition to ministry in the Bible school, the Monteiro's are also involved with the PAOC orphanage in the neighboring city of Natal. Working with needy kids continues to be a an area of great need in Brazil.
